Lloid Gets to the Root of the Problem
Nov 2, 2024
This game was part of the 2023 Global Game Jam event located at the SCAD Jam Site. My team of 11 took on the challenge of creating a game from scratch within 48 hours of hearing that the theme for this year was Roots. My roles included 3D modeler and texturing, the models I created can be seen throughout the forest, such as the rock piles, sticks, flowers, and leaves.
This project had many challenges not just for me, but also my team. When I first joined this event I was a beginner in 3D modeling, which became increasingly difficult to contribute in such a fast paced setting. This challenged me not only creatively, but also mentally, as I kept up with my more established 3D artist peers. I quickly learned Maya and UVs, while also creating texture maps within procreate for the models.
